Providing School Resources

Our project aims to create a library at Bharathi Primary School to help kids learn English. We are acquiring children's books and will translate them so kids have an online translated version. The room will be transformed by painting it and adding shelves. We will also collect educational toys and computers for the library. This initiative will provide resources to improve the students' English skills and create an engaging learning environment.

Current project

We will work with the local Palo Alto community and libraries to collect books. They will donate used children's books to create the library's collection. We will also seek laptops and educational toys as donations from the community. One key partnership will be with Troop 57 scouts. They will help translate the books into Tamil -- the native language of the kids at the school. Their work will make the stories accessible for young readers, helping them learn the language. This project involves different groups contributing time, resources, and skills. By working together, we will create an initiative that impacts the education of children at Bharathi Primary School.

Community Involvement

Equipped Students with New Desks and Chairs

At Bharathi Primary School, students once endured the discomfort of sitting on the floor, bending their backs as they read and wrote. Recognizing the need for a more conducive learning environment, I partnered with ElitLabs during the summer of 2023. We organized and conducted Python and other programming classes for kids, raising $1500 in the process. This initiative enabled us to purchase tables and chairs for 35 students at the school. Now, these students can sit up straight, significantly improving their ability to read and write, and enhancing their overall educational experience.
